  What to wear?
Being tropical by natural location and virtually on the west coastline, we suggest light cottons, berms, sun glasses, t-shirts, shorts, sandals, sports shoes for comfortable days. Evenings at the Resort are quite cool because of natural forestation and manmade gardens, so a little warm clothing is suggested. Rainy season is heavy to light showers so please protect yourself with rain gear, knee high boots OR just wet yourself. Winters are quite cool at the Resort so warm light woolens are suggested.
  What to do?

Sightseeing & Outdoors:

Ganpatipule offers you a host of places that have historical importance to Marathi literature, forts, temples and white sandy beaches that are unexplored, unspoilt by human habitation, yet. This place has the charm of being in a pious region and at the same time offers unhindered fun and introspection time most commonly called “MY TIME”! There are a number of activities that can be offered to keep you busy through the day. The famous Ganpatipule temple, Poet Keshav Soots’ residence that is now a student’s hostel and a monument in his memory, old Shiva Temple at Velneshwar, Jaigad Fort, Ratnagiri and many other places that have still managed to maintain the OLD WORLD charm and are a delight to walk through. We can organize your half day or full day sightseeing tours on request at additional costs. If you have some inclination towards the ‘adventurous’, we suggest the water sports facility at the Bhatye Beach for a fun filled day at the beach.

If you really want to pig it out, we suggest walks along the resort outdoor corridor through the tropical gardens, meditation and yoga lawns and then laze under the gazebo’s on the beach and just gaze into infinite nothingness.

Languages spoken: Marathi is the most widely spoken language.  Hindi and English are understood and spoken by many.

Local Festivals: Many festivals are celebrated along the Konkan Coast.  Among the most significant are Gauri Ganapti and Magh Chaturthi (the fourth day of the lunar month of Magh, believed to be the birth date of Lord Ganapati).Other festivals like Holi, Gudi Padva and Diwali are also celebrated with equal fervor, and to be here during this time is an experience in itself.
Shopping and food: Ganapatipule offers a variety of local preparations, like ambapoli (thin pancakes of crushed and dried mango) and phanspoli (thin pancakes of dried and crushed jackfruit).  Fish curries and the kokam kadi (a pink – colored digestive drink) are also worth trying.  Vegetarians can feast on simple, yet tasty, fare: dal, vegetables prepared with a coconut base and modak – a sweet (and a favorite dish of Lord Ganesh).  If you’re here in summer you can also relish Devgad Hapus, the most famous variety of mangoes in the world. Also various qualities of fresh farm cheshews , jackfruits, coconut etc are specialty of this coast.
